h such a curious dog is captured in this vintage letter O drawing. He appears to be examine a vase or urn of some kind that is strangely in the middle of a strand of tall grasses. The letter O is outlined in white and filled with black that in turn is decorated with white curli-ques. The O is then framed in a double border with flowers in each of the corners. The outer border has tiny scallops to create even more visual interest for this vintage letter O drawing.
This fancy letter O drawing is one of several unusual drop cap images I found in Another Summer The Yellowstone Park and Alaska. It was published in 1893 without acknowledging and illustrator and is therefore in the public domain. The other letters that were used to decorate this book were: A, L, a second O, T, W and Y.
