Antique ornamental watch drawing from a book all about the history of timepieces. It was written by James W. Benson and published in 1875. I didn’t see where the author specifically discussed the history of this ornamental watch but I think with all of the fine detail work that it is a very pretty piece.
I like if for all of the graphical elements it includes – the watch, the pretty round floral border around the edge and the bucolic scene of a young boy playing his pipe on the hill overlooking his village. From a Reusable Art perspective, you can see all of the wonderful options this ornamantal watch drawing offers.
