Patience is a virtue you don’t need at Reusable Art. We’ve done all the work for you in finding great vintage drop cap letter images like this one. This drop cap P image builds upon a somewhat standard block print letter and with a bit of fancy scrollwork is taller and more interesting.
This public domain fancy letter image is one of a partial set of 12 that we found from the same publisher. The drop cap letter images we found include: A, C, D, G, H, I, J, M, O, T and W.
This set of fancy letters were all used in the 1881 book How a Little Boy Learned to Be Wise and Good. It was written by Helen Cross Knight (1814-1906). These images are most likely from the publisher Thomas Nelson and Sons.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
