Colorful drop cap P letter image from a presentation page. This letter image was part of a label used to make a formal presentation of a children’s book in 1895. It may have been a graphic originally included in the book, but it appears to be some sort of presentation sticker. The date would appear to put it in the public domain, but I truly don’t know for sure. The book I found it in was The Stories of Whitminster from 1873.
It is one of the more colorful drop cap letter images that I’ve shared here on Reusable Art. With greens, peach and blue color blends, it offers a more colorful option than most of the other letters. The letter P is drawn in a quite stylized manner with curls and swirls forming the letter and decorating it. Peach leaves were included behind the P and both are framed with a cross-hatched pattern on a double frame.
