I love how mixed media artists are using free vintage page spacer images like this to add texture and interest to their pieces. This one has what appears to be a pair of parrots – love their long tails.
This one was included in an 1880 work Petals Plucked from Sunny Climes. The author did not identify an illustrator but this seems more like a stock engraving from a publishing house.
We have a pair of parents and leaves surrounding what appears to be some circular object emitting light. The rays of light radiate from the center of this parrot page spacer. I’m not sure it wouldn’t be nicer if you removed the center and left the space empty.
