Lap cat or prisoner? This vintage drawing of a little girl and her pet cat makes one wonder if the cat is willingly sitting on her lap or greatly distressed. With a huge Japanese painting in the background, the little girl sits in a chair and holds a large cap on her lap. I would probably edit out the painting as I think it draws attention away from the humorous look on the cat’s face.
This vintage drawing was published in 1879 in the December 30th edition of Harper’s Young People.
