Anyone who has shared their home with a pet cat probably has stories to tell about their cat’s tricks for getting them up in the morning. In this vintage drawing of children, we have a gray cat in the bed with two young children. The story is that the cat approaches the boy each morning and rubs her soft fur on his face to wake him up. As much as she would like to saw Good Morning, she simply cries “Meow, meow” as if to ask him to please get up. The Nursery, February 1877 is where I found this illustration.
