Vintage, public domain rat silhouette drawing. This rat image is of a rat creeping along, perhaps just out for a stroll or perhaps stalking a bit of supper. It’s a great rat drawing as you can make it friendly or sinister simply by the context with which you use it.
This is another of those wonderful children’s books which provided a bunch of great vintage images for Reusable Art. National Rhymes of the Nursery did not include a publication date, but the artist was Gordon Browne (1858-1932) and his work is in the public domain.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
