Repeating Border with Tassels

This vintage repeating border image reminds me a bit of the trimmings on my grandmother’s drapes. With embroidered-like decorations hanging from a woven cord and tassels dangling from each, I would think this decorative image would add something truly interesting to a larger piece.

So many wonderful illustrations were included in the large work Hill’s Album of Biography and Art from 1882 by Thomas E. Hill. This is but one of them.

This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
