Fancy letter S drawing surrounded by ivy vines. This drop cap letter S is fairly tall but overall has a light and elegant appearance with a country flair. It’s one of my favorite S letter images.
A Girl’s Own Paper Vol VIII no. 354 only identied the editor as Charles Peters. It dates back to 1886 which puts all of the images on Reusable Art from this work in the public domain.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
