Vintage drawing of a Chinese junk. The foxing of the paper and the scan make this book illustration look as if it were drawn on parchment. It’s a little sailing ship image but one that might be even more useful for its size.
Thomas E. Hill made quite an ambitious work when he wrote Hill’s Album of Biography and Art in 1882. He did not indicate whether the artwork like this junk drawing is from his own hand, another artist or primarily from print foundries.
