A Great Blackbacked Gull stands along the shore as the waves come in. This is one of the many species of birds often referred to as sea gulls.
A book called Bird Tales circa 1889 is the source for this wonder bird image by the popular children’s book illustrator Harrison Weir (1824-1906).
