I wish there had been a bit more explanation with this image. The book where I found it provides the title I used and says it it from an old Dutch engraving. (The text does not appear to be Dutch based upon the translation software I played with.) I suppose we’ll have to leave it up to our imaginations why there are a group of idols sitting along this snowy path.
Regardless, this would make an interesting addition to your latest art project as it appears now or with the idols carefully removed. This image is fully in the public domain and can be used however you wish for your next crafting or website project.
This book illustration appeared in The Voyage of the Vega Round Asia and Europe Vol. 1, written by A.E. Nordenskiold. It was published in 1881.
