Snowdrops are such poetically named flowers. Their drooping white flower heads and small spear-like leaves are delicate and lovely. This public domain flower image is over 150 years old. It is from an old book where each of the illustrations was painted by hand by an unknown artist. How exciting it must have been to receive a book like this for your own library? A book full of watercolors, I think I would have put it on display rather than kept it closed in a bookcase.
Lessons From the Vegetable World included a number of flower illustrations. They were published in 1858 and now illustrator or watercolorist was credited for the work.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
