I just love this vintage block print illustration of a gnarled tree. It looks as if it has had to withstand some fierce weather simply to survive. With the top part of the tree broken off and the lower branches twisted and gnarled, it just so represents strength and character to me.
I hope someone out there can breathe new life into this vintage tree print and use it in their own project.
It is the work of John Bewick from 1795 and was used to illustrate the book The Blossoms of Morality.
