I never know what I might find when going through old books. A book all about cows yields no cow images and yet, there’s a wonderful vintage barn drawing to be had.
The book isĀ The Cow on the Farm. It was written by Bertha Bridges and published in 1896. They didn’t identify an illustrator. So, since we are over 120 years post-publication, I’m fairly certain this image is OK for all uses.
This vintage barn drawing is a fairly simple black and white line drawing of a barn with a cupola and weathervane. The weathervane is a bit plain, but I’ll leave it up to you to add a nicer one or use the one it came with. In the background, on both sides of the barn, the farmer’s crop is growing in rows. Just a bit of each plant has grown but it adds a nice decorative element to the overall picture.
