This vintage home drawing is from the December 1887 Scientific American Architects and Builders Edition. It shows an actual home that had been built in Glenridge, New Jersey; a suburb of New York City. As you can see, this was a fairly large 2-story home with an attic or third floor.
Maybe it’s just me, but, this vintage home drawing looks a little like a house out of a scary movie. It somehow has that “Don’t go there, that’s where the crazy lady who eats children lives.” OK, maybe I’m letting my imagination get the better of me today, but, really, doesn’t it look a bit like that?
This vintage home drawing shows the home surrounded by trees and bushes and it is framed by some greenery and cloudy sky.
