Vintage fancy letter W drawing and drop cap image. This drawing is one of a group of 7 fancy letter images that I found in a public domain children’s text. The letter W is the only one that includes recognizable flowers – morning glories, perhaps to showcase the wonder of how these charming flowers great the dawn of each day.
The letters are obviously part of a set of drop cap images when you compare them side-by-side. To make it easier for you to use these letters in combination, I’ve included the links to the other letters here – A, C, D, M, N, and T.
These letter images date back to 1880 when Toby Tyler was first published. It was written by James Otis.
This image is copyright free and in the public domain anywhere that extends copyrights 70 years after death or at least 120 years after publication when the original illustrator is unknown.
