A group of wrens gather around a roof-top nesting box. Wrens sit on the edge of the roof, the nesting box and on the gutters. House wrens are such interesting little birds. There’s just something about the way they hold their tails that makes them seem plucky and charming. This black and white bird drawing could be used as it is or your could carefully crop individual birds from the picture.
When the illustrator is Harrison Weir (1824-1906) you know the drawing is going to be interesting. This one is one of many from an 1889 book he worked on called Bird Tales.
